During college I worked in thankless service jobs to pay the bills and earn a little fun money.  There were advantages…when the tips were good, they were really good; my schedule allowed me to have my off time while most people were working so I missed a lot of crowds; I met some really cool people and, thusly, got to do some really cool things.  It also gave me an entirely new perspective on restaurants and food service places.

A new survey from Robert Half International and CareerBuilder brings great news from the job front. It says that 53% of employers expect to hire full-time employees over the next 12 months while 40% will hire contract , temporary or project professionals.  39% will add part-time employees.  Technology, customer service and sales are the top areas where employers expect to add jobs first. For people considering their next opportunity, this means you need to get your A-game together.
