The Birthday Sombrero

During college I worked in thankless service jobs to pay the bills and earn a little fun money.  There were advantages…when the tips were good, they were really good; my schedule allowed me to have my off time while most people were working so I missed a lot of crowds; I met some really cool people and, thusly, got to do some really cool things.  It also gave me an entirely new perspective on restaurants and food service places.

cocktail Media portrayal is not always what it seems when it comes to the viewers idea of what a certain job entails.  Movies and television can sometimes make a night club career or job look exciting and alluring when it is in fact tiring and stressful.  The viewers, whether it be by choice or ignorance, only see the glamorous side of many stories. A good example of this false portrayal by the media is bartending .  Bartending is just a small part of a big picture in the restaurant bus
